Really appreciated this discussion Jordan. The sections of meta-commentary and reflection from all involved were great to hear, and the Jordan Media Hour is a good one. Having Joe Weisenthal on to discuss his thoughts on Orality and Literacy in media would be fun! He's been vibe-coding an orality analyis thing for a bit.
Thanks for the discussion Jordan! When we look at China we look at ourselves… The Chan’s Great Continent is a good follow up read on that point you raise :)
Thank you Jordan, Derek and Dan - a lot of references to many ideas spanning the global conversations about China and the US. Thank you in particular for analysing the historical development of US politics. Oh and feelings are facts for many people, if not data.
+100 to the situational first principles analysis of whether “a group” / “entities” are with you or against you on a specific output mission.
Very important and can’t be sad enough.
Side note, and would’ve loved to hear their view (and Dan’s!): There may be a whole swath of society that prefers ZERO Building and Change, which prefers the 2-party us-them divides that perpetuate the lack of change and lack of abundance of our times. (Yes, this idea posits another us-them!)
Wow. When three Substack godfathers get a half beer down, the insights fly. This was outstanding, even if it was only obliquely about China.
glad you enjoyed! now we just need dan to start his
