Ironically, China is very weak in social sciences where critical thinking about biases, expectations, and cognitive fallacies is explored. What they are calling "sciences" is strictly limited to topics that do not cause the leaders to lose face via controversial or challenging findings. So basically that renders a large portion of what Westerners call "science" off limits to Chinese researchers.
