This convesration is something else! I love Luttwak, you may not agree with him, but he does bring serious intellectual acumen to the table. Thank you for making the convo available to us.

So wrong on Trump though. Bit of magical thinking assuming he wouldn't start trade wars, invoke tariffs, ruin relationships with the rest of the world.

This discussion feels realy timely given the global landscape. How do you see Luttwak's insights on technological shifts in warfare applying to the era of AI and cyber conflict? Your analysis is always so thought provoking and deeply intelligent.

Sincerely hope nobody takes Luttwak seriously these days....especially on the topic of China.

I remember Tanner Greer over at Scholar Stage debunking his whole "but the chinese cant fight" nonsense a few years ago.

BS thinking like this is going to potentially get people killed.

Great interview. Typo in the section referring to Tip O'Neill - I presume Jordan never met him in the 1970s

This was a great interview!

"They had found a photograph of him being interviewed by a beautiful woman, and that was the story. That he was fired because of an extramarital affair — nonsense. He was fired, because after living in Washington, he is brought back. Once he’s elevated to foreign minister, is briefed about Xi Jinping’s intentions, which is to rejuvenate China by starting a war with Taiwan."

This dude obviously doesn't know that Qin Gang reappeared recently in an offline event, yet, if the fanciful scenario he imagined in his head is real, Qin Gang should end up in Qin Cheng for life.
