摸着美国过河 is so funny. I think next sentence has a typo though, "It’s a play on Chen Yu and Deng Xiaoping’s famous idiom: improvising amidst the rapids". Should be Chen Yun 陈云 right?
I didn't realize the gap was that big. Raw footage costs about 100 yuan an hour, but 500 to 700 yuan once it's actually usable. So most of the cost is in the cleanup, not the filming. If companies really go after billions of hours of this, who do you think ends up making the money?
Excellent article. As cool as this is from a technological standpoint, I worry about where this leads human employment and livelihood along with the massive leaps being made in AI. It sounds like they’re not just getting training data for the models, but they’re training models to take over entire sectors of jobs.
the ¥100–200 a day in those ads matches what the training halls here report: only 3–4 hours of an 8-hour shift end up as usable data. so half the footage is gone before any cleaning starts. curious whether jd’s suqian center pays per hour or per accepted clip, since that decides who eats the waste
